00:00: Welcome to session board in this quick video, we'll walk you through how to create 00:04: an assign a task to a portal. A task is a general action item 00:08: within the portal that a user or group must complete such as register for the event 00:12: or attend an upcoming speaker call 00:16: To begin navigate to the Portal's module, and select tasks at the top 00:20: of your page. 00:22: To create a new task. Select the button, add task. 00:26: There are three types of tasks you can create. First people. 00:31: Assigned tasks to individual contacts such as requesting them to register 00:35: for the upcoming event. Second groups assigned 00:39: tasks to sponsor or exhibitor groups, like sharing a reminder to ship all Booth 00:43: materials to the event venue by a specific date. 00:47: Third sessions assigned tasks to each session such as upload, presentation 00:51: files to their session through the portal. 00:55: In the pop-up, enter a title that will be visible to your event contacts in the portal 00:59: and select the type of task you'd like to create 01:03: Add a brief description that explains to the contact. 01:05: What you would like them to do. 01:08: To display a unique task description for each user. 01:11: Select use field. Make sure the field already exists 01:15: as a text or text area type and contains data for each contact group 01:19: or session. This will dynamically appear in their portal. 01:23: If needed, add a link to your tasks, similar to the description field, 01:27: you can use a field as the task link to dynamically display, a unique link 01:31: for each contact. Once complete, click the, add task button. 01:37: After creating your tasks, be sure to assign it to the appropriate portal so 01:41: your contacts can view and complete it. 01:44: To do this, click portals at the top of the page, to return to the portal home. 01:49: Select the ellipses to the right of the portal, the task should be assigned to and 01:53: select edit tasks from the action list. 01:57: Navigate to the assigned tasks widget and select the button. 02:00: Assigned tasks to assign the task, you have just created 02:04: In the pop-up, check the box next to the task. 02:06: You want to assign to your portal and don't forget to click save in the bottom right corner. 02:12: After assigning your tasks, you can mark it as required. 02:15: By toggling the icon in the required column To configure additional 02:19: settings, such as a due date. Click the pencil icon in the actions 02:23: column. 02:24: If you're assigning a session tasks, you can use the actions pop-up to apply a 02:28: filter.
