How to unlock an account?
Learn how to unlock a user who is locked out of their account
If a user attempts to log into Sessionboard with an invalid password, they will be locked out of their account after five attempts.
There are two methods for unlocking an account:
As a user
- Access login area here: https://app.sessionboard.com/login
Select your Data host region, and use the 'Forgot your password?' button:
- Reset password for your email address:
- Check your email inbox, including Spam/Junk folder and reset your password. Your account will be unlocked.
If you do not receive the email, it means your email is not associated with any Sessionboard account, or you're at the wrong data host region.
As an Admin:
To unlock the user, an admin can follow the below steps:
-
Navigate to the Event Team module and search for the user (by name or email) who has been locked out of their account. -
If the user is a speaker, sponsor, exhibitor, moderator, or chairperson, you will be able to locate them from the Event Team module with a Portal User permission type.

-
-
Within the Actions column, click the three ellipse dots to select Unlock Account. Unlocking the account will automatically send a reset password email to the user:
